Miriam Bold

Principal

Miriam trained at The Dance Studio from the age of ten and then went on to study at The London College Of Dance. Here she gained The Diploma of The ISTD and her Associate examinations. After leaving college she taught for Chelsea Ballet schools in London, Bodywork Dance Studios in Cambridge and many schools in the Home Counties. Miriam went on to pass her Associate Diploma of the ISTD and her RAD teaching certificate. Miriam was Head of Dance at Pipers Corner school in High Wycombe for ten years where she was responsible for teaching all styles of dance to girls from age 3 to 18 and during her time there she set up the GCSE and A level Dance Programme. She then returned to where her dance journey began and took over as Principal of The Dance Studio in 2002. Miriam is passionate about offering the very highest standards of professional training and with her skilled and dedicated team aims to create and inspire the dancers of tomorrow. Miriam lives in Welwyn with her husband, three children and puppy, combining a busy family life with her rewarding career as Dance School Principal.

Sara Clayton

Teacher

Sara is home grown talent and received all her early training from The Dance Studio. She then went on to study at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. There, she was awarded a scholarship to further her education. Sara gained valuable performance experience and then decided to pass on her love of dance to others and train as a teacher. She completed her ISTD qualifications with Penny Meekings at The College and then returned to join the faculty at The Dance Studio. Sara also holds her Acrobatic Arts teaching qualification. She works with all ages throughout the school and always inspires her students to give their best. 

Vicky Evans

Teacher

Vicky trained at London Contemporary Dance School, graduating with a BA (Hons) in 1993. Vicky then joined Matthew Bourne's AMP/New Adventures from 1995-2008, creating roles and performing in Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Car Man, Nutcracker! and Edward Scissorhands. She also performed in the film versions of Swan Lake, The Car Man and Nutcracker! From 2005-2007 Vicky was Resident Artistic Director for Swan Lake. Vicky has been teaching professionally for over 20 years for LCDS, Trinity Laban, Central School of Ballet, English National Ballet School, The Place, Greenwich Dance Agency and was a founder member and workshop leader for Re:Bourne. Vicky currently works part-time at The Place as Programme Manager for the Centre for Advanced Training in Dance. Vicky lives in St Albans with her son.

Abbey Maginnis

Teacher

Abbey had all of her early training from The Dance Studio and then completed a BTEC course in Performing Arts at Stageright in Royston. From there, she went on to study at The Centre PAC where she completed her ISTD professional teaching qualifications. Abbey is a vibrant teacher who is qualified in all genres. She is a talented choreographer, and always encourages students of all ages to reach their full potential.

Lianne Holt

Teacher

Lianne is a versatile teacher who is experienced in teaching all age groups. She trained at The Margaret Howard Teacher Training College where she gained her ISTD teaching qualifications. Lianne also holds a Masters Degree in Dance. Her classes for the younger children are creative and taught with a wonderful sense of fun and her work with the older students is both challenging and motivating. She is a gifted choreographer who produces such innovative dance pieces. Lianne is also a Creative Director of Pop Dance and runs a successful adult fitness business called Barre and Bloom. Lianne lives lcoally with her husband Adam and their gorgeous children Evangeline, Ezra and Elias.

Stephanie Jones

Teacher

Stephanie trained at The Doreen Bird School of Performing Arts where she attained her National Diploma in Musical Theatre. She then spent time performing both onstage and in television. Stephanie then went onto further her dance studies attaining her ISTD teaching qualifications and graduated from Middlesex University with a BA (Hons) in Dance. She is passionate about teaching dance and has attended courses in the new programme Progressing Ballet Technique. Stephanie is a highly valued member of the team.

Gemma Mathews

Teacher

Gemma joined The Dance Studio in 2020. She has extensive professional training and is experienced in teaching all age groups. Her first passion is classical ballet, but she loves to teach all dance styles. Gemma holds a BSc (Hons) from the Royal Academy of Dance, and is currently working towards her licentiate qualifications with the ISTD. Her choreography is imaginative and beautifully created, and she is a strong asset to the team. Miss Gemma lives in St Albans with her four lovely children.

Christina Hadjisavvas

Teacher

Christina trained at The College with Penny Meekings where she gained her ISTD teaching qualifications. She is a dedicated member of the team who is sensitive to the needs of her students and especially caring with the little ones. She is experienced in teaching all styles of dance and has taught for various local dance schools and primary schools. Christina also has her own school in Sawston, Cambridgeshire. She is an inspirational teacher who always manages to find that something special in every student she teaches. She is also mummy to the gorgeous Arthur and Christopher!

Samantha Brennan

Teacher

Samantha trained at The College with Penny Meekings where she gained her ISTD teaching qualifications. Samantha is a bubbly and enthusiastic teacher who teaches with great energy and style and always inspires her students. Equally suited to teaching the little ones and the older students, Samantha is a versatile and committed teacher. She is also mummy to the very handsome Louie and Freddy! Samantha teaches our highly regarded Acrobatic Arts Programme which is an excellent addition to our already extensive curriculum.
